I think this article is wonderful. I am a children's writer, though yet to be published. I have been woking on my craft for a little over a year now. When I first started writing my picture books I really had no clue. Even I wouldnt want to published my book in the beginning. Now that I have studied and studied my writing has improved. I know I have what it take to be a published children's writer. I went through the check list and I have none of the mistakes that you mention. This is in my current manuscript that I am submitting to agents. Now comes the kicker. I am a newbie and it feels like I dont have a chance if I just send a query letter. I believe if they read the manuscript it will get me the deal. So tell me how do you get past the I am a newbie part and get agents to listen.

Love the article, it is a wonderful check list.
